About Me

Personal Me

My name is Bharath Hemachandran. I live in Bangalore India. I am currently a full time employee @ EMC Consulting (details below) and a full time MBA student @ Kenan-Flagler School of Business, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.

My family consists of my beautiful wife, amazing son and my parents who we reside with.

I love playing sports - although I must say it is harder to find time to play them nowadays - especially tennis that I used to play at an amateur level in the USTA. I enjoy playing table tennis, listening to all kinds of music and watching the odd movie.

Professional Me

I currently work as a Senior Practice Consultant in charge of the QA competency at EMC Consulting India (based in Bangalore). I head all testing strategy and delivery efforts for the application development team in the Cloud Computing (Sharepoint & vFabric) and Application Modernization (Mainframe to .NET or J2EE) domains. In addition to being a subject matter expert who also is in charge of solution design for QA and testing processes, I am also in charge of the testing team here.

Additionally, I also lead of the Organizational Effectiveness group that aims to improve Service Culture (communications, teamwork, customer connect) within the organization. I also am part of the Innovation council that is aimed at increasing innovating from the group. This includes increasing the number of whitepapers written as well as the number of GTM solutions and patents filed by the group.

I have a Bachelors and Masters in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology and Florida Institute of Technology. I have completed a few management courses from Harvard University and I am currently pursuing my full time MBA with the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (new online option). I am a certified expert in software testing and QA processes, and have certifications for Cloud Computing as well.

I started out working as an intern in charge of tool development and part of a testing team at GE Transportation in Melbourne, USA while I pursued my Masters degree. Once I graduated I was taken on at Blackbaud Inc (the leading software provider for NGOs) as an Software Testing and Automation expert in an individual contributor role. I grew into the role of an overseer of work from our offshore partners (NIIT) in addition to my previous responsibilities.

I then became a Performance Testing lead at Omgeo LLC (subsidiary of Thomson Reuters and Depository Trust & Clearing Coporation of USA), creator of some of the leading back end financial tools used by the major Investment Banks and Brokers,  where I was in charge of the testing efforts of two applications Omgeo Alert (World's largest database of Settlement Instructions) Omgeo Oasys.

Later, I was transferred to India to oversee testing work from all our vendors (Wipro and IGate). I managed a team of testers here in India for work that was generated in Boston.
